It depends on whether you want to carry all of your own gear (and how much, i.e. camping and cooking gear, or just a few clothes because you&#39;ll sleep in motels and eat in restaurants); also on whether you intend to be on paved roads or not. One example is the recently-discontinued Trek 520. They made it (with some changes over the years) for 40 years. Check it out, at least as a starting point for your thinking.
