Riding the Sacramento River Trail in Redding is a favorite among residents of Shasta County. Starting at the Redding Sundial Bridge, take the bike path across to the north side of the river and head west. Enjoy local parks, playgrounds, and river views. Cross the historic Diestelhorst Bridge or continue along the path and cross the river at the renowned Concrete Stress Ribbon Bridge to complete a loop. Other detours can be taken off the trail by continuing to Keswick and Shasta Dam by following the paved Sacramento Rail Trail. Upon returning to the Sundial Bridge, stop off for a few loops around the Jr. Bike Park in Caldwell Park, ride around the McConnell Arboretum and Turtle Bay Exploration Park. Want more? Continue across the river to Hilltop Drive.
