What does your local Love to Ride team member do?
They are the local experts of Love to Ride, and can engage with a wide variety of people within our community to support everyone with their Love to Ride journey. They reach out to partners and co-promoters in the Active Travel industry to provide a positive holistic experience for all users.
They raise the profile of Love to Ride through local community events, outreach to community groups, local businesses, and meeting with other local groups and organisations who would benefit from the project.
In short, they are the beating heart of Love to Ride, and here to help you take part and cycle more often, more confidently, for every day journeys!
Who is your local team member?
Melanie Carroll| Love to Ride

When did you first start cycling?
- There's a pic somewhere in the family archives of me on a tricycle being pulled along by my mum when she was pregnant with my sister so I'm younger than 2! So I've been cycling ever since then and apart from a couple of short spells on buses & trains for a while it's been my main mode of transport since about 14!
What is your favourite cycling snack?
Favourite place to cycle?
- Everywhere - though quiet roads are a dream when encountered!
What is the best thing about cycling?
-
Independence, freedom, the ability to stop and take pictures, the ability to Ride and chat with others sometimes, the ability to get out on your own sometimes and just go where you feel like... Yeah everything (oh and batteries are a new fave to get old bones up hills or into headwinds and further than they might otherwise have gone! )... The ability to port 30kg of shopping home in panniers and baskets, yep everything!
