All events in the Summer Cycling Series are run by the Safe & Sustainable Journeys team at Rotorua Lakes Council

Bike it Forward Got a bike you no longer use?  Bike it forward and donate your paihikara (bike) to help us bring the joy of biking to deserving community members. We‘re collecting good condition used bicycles to donate to less advantaged tamariki and adults.  Please get in touch to arrange donation – email, cycling@rotorualc.nz or drop it off during the 'Mechanics & Maintenance Bike Fix-up Day'. Wed 8th Feb 2023, 5.30 - 7pm - Returning Riders - It’s time to dust off your paihikara (bike) and get your confidence back again! Our qualified Eke Haumaru (Bike Ready) instructors will lead small groups to rebuild your bike skills and confidence so you can enjoy the benefits of riding. Registrations essential. Wed 15th Feb 5 - 7.30pm - Mechanics & Maintenance Bike Fix-up Day - Do you have bike maintenance skills? – We NEED you! We have a small fleet of donated bikes that need some TLC before we can pass them on to their new owners. Thurs 16th Feb, 5.30 - 7pm - Frocks on Bikes social ride - No need to change, come as you are after work, or dress up glam – it’s up to you.  Join us for pre-ride refreshments followed by a fun, relaxed ride around Sulphur  Bay/Te Arikiroa to Tarawera Road and back through the Long Mile Link. Fri 17th Feb, 9.30 – 10.30am - Whakarewarewa Forest Loop - Get a your workmates together and rack up some Aotearoa Bike Challenge points with this one! Our WFL Trail Champ, Helen van Beek will be stationed at the start of this 'Great Ride' at the Waipa Carpark for one hour only if you want hot tips on what to expect on this trail.
