That sounds like one of the best audits people can do. When you start looking around the city and see how much space is given to dead metal. We did something similar. If you don't need a car to commute to work then you don't need a car. Haven't had one for 10 years. When we need one, we normally treat our self's to something that we would need own. Keep on riding!

I went through a similar audit earlier this year. While I did use the car a bit, it was all short trips of less than 10 km, and when the car became unrepairable, that was the time to put into action a plan I had been considering for the previous few years - go car free! The result: No car, I have an E-bike that has seen over 1500km in 2.5 months, already saved hundreds on car expenses and contributed to a cleaner and more sustainable future. See my post elsewhere.

On my daily rides I often see children in the back of cars. They often stare at me or my bike. I hope it is my bike. I wished their parents would take them out on bikes. They look like they want to.

Hi Richard, bike rack has been here for a long time. I prefer something I can rest my bike against as the weight of the panniers means front wheel bike stands are not so good. Modern upright stands where you can rest a bike on and lock seem to be what is being installed more and more.

Will try to go for a ride everyday come sun or rain. I hope the bike holds!
