Cycling is for everyone! Come and try out our recumbent tricycles - perfect for anybody with balance or mobility issues. We also have standard two-wheeled bicycles to borrow. The sessions take place at 10am and 11am on Thursdays during term-time and are open to all residents of Wokingham Borough.

We are running our adult cycle training for beginners for those who have never ridden or haven’t ridden for a long time. Our sessions are based at Alder Grove Primary School in Shinfield on Saturday mornings on 24 May, 31 May, 7 June and 14 June at 10am and focus on learning the basic skills of cycling. The session costs £11.00.
We also run adult cycle training for improvers and these sessions are aimed at those who have attended our beginners sessions and are ready to move on to the next stage (also those who haven't been on a bike for a long time but feel confident with the basics). The sessions take place on Saturday mornings on 24 May, 31 May, 31 May, 7 June and 14 June at 11am at Alder Grove Primary School, Shinfield and cost £11.00 per session.

In preparation for the Wokingham Bikeathon on 22 June 2025, we are pleased to advertise some guided cycle rides aimed at beginners and those returning to cycling. All rides are led by an experienced British Cycling guided ride leader and are no drop rides, going at the pace of the slowest rider.
To take part, you must be able to cycle, have a roadworthy bike and wear a cycling helmet.
The ride series has been developed to increase your cycling distance on firstly cycleways then the series continues to build up your cycling mileage and introduces more rides on quiet roads with traffic.

This course is aimed at Adult Cyclists who want to learn more skills for cycling on roads in traffic. It is ideal for commuters or people who want to make longer cycling journeys.
The principles being taught are similar to Bikeability Level 3 (https://www.bikeability.org.uk/get-cycling/cycle-training-for-children/bikeability-level-3/).
To attend you must be a competent cyclist, have a roadworthy bike and wear a cycle helmet.
This course is led by experienced Bikeability Instructors and is designed to take adults on to busier roads around Wokingham so that you gain confidence cycling in traffic.

The event takes place on Sunday, 22 June and will start and finish at Cantley Park, Wokingham, RG40 5QG
Routes
There will be a choice of four routes to suit all abilities and ages: 15 miles (short), 26 miles (intermediate), 36 miles (long) or 51 miles (extra long) - there will be drink stops and toilets on all the routes. Bring your family or ride with your friends. Refreshments, other activities and attractions will also be at Cantley Park at the Bikeathon start/finish.
