Let it flow out, then spray with Teflon lube. For other easy repairs, YouTube might save you quite a few dollars because a lot of things are fairly simple if you know what to do.

If you don't need a car to commute to work then you don't need a car. Haven't had one for 10 years. When we need one, we normally treat our self's to something that we would need own. Keep on riding!

I went through a similar audit earlier this year. While I did use the car a bit, it was all short trips of less than 10 km, and when the car became unrepairable, that was the time to put into action a plan I had been considering for the previous few years - go car free! The result: No car, I have an E-bike that has seen over 1500km in 2.5 months, already saved hundreds on car expenses and contributed to a cleaner and more sustainable future. See my post elsewhere.
