2017 - #yearofthebike

In 1817 Karl Drais invented the 'Laufmaschine' or 'running machine', the first form of mechanised personal transport and the beginnings of the bicycle as we know it. To celebrate the most beautiful and practical of inventions, Love to Ride have developed a full calendar of events and promotions to get more people cycling across the UK:

Ride to Work Week - March 13-19

Exactly what it says on the tin: the weather's getting better, the days are getting longer, it's time to get that bike out of the garage, give it a bit of TLC and try riding to work. Switching to commuting by bike will make you happier, healthier and wealthier - and to help you make the change, we'll have some cracking prizes up for grabs for riding to work and encouraging your colleagues to do so too.

Bike Week - June

Give the gift of cycling! This is a national celebration of cycling with thousands of events running across the UK. We'll be inviting everyone to get out on their bikes, invite their friends, family and colleagues along and go into the draw for some amazing prizes. In 2016 we gave away a bike a day and lots of other amazing goodies - watch this space to find out what's in store next year!

Cycle September

This will be a friendly, national competition between workplaces to see which can get the most staff to try riding a bike. It's fun, free and everyone can take part - you can ride anywhere, any time in September and there will be wonderful prizes for riding and encouraging!

Winter Riding Promo

Are you a Winter Warrior? Or are you a fair-weather rider who needs some encouragement? Look out for our Winter Riding Promo for some great incentives to motivate you to take to two wheels in the dark and sideways rain (and the lovely, crisp sunshine you only get in winter that's actually the best riding weather there is...). Tune up, tog up and get pedalling!

GET INVOLVED

You can register yourself and your workplace here, it only take two ticks.
Record your rides, set yourself goals, do virtual rides and invite your friends and colleagues!
If you build your team now, you'll be better placed to win when we run a workplace cycle challenge!
