Ithaca is continually improving on-street biking infrastructure with dedicated bike boulevards and speed limit reductions to help make the city safe for all cyclists. There has been multiple new multi-use trails, for example, connecting Cornell/Ithaca to Dryden and connecting Trumansburg to Ithaca. This project Is still in progress as it will connect to a NY State Park, known as Buttermilk Falls State Park.

For new cyclists, on Cornell's campus, the Botanic Gardens are a safe and fun place to learn to ride a bike and be part of nature. There are several new waterfront trails that connect to many parts of the inlet from Cayuga Lake, East Hill Recreational Path. The East Hill Recreational Path along South Hill creates a beautiful nature trail to ride a bike. There is also a new installed multi-use paved path, running parallel to Pine Tree Rd.
