Last time I saw snow in Aptos was about 20 yrs ago coming home from a trip down south at about 3AM. Snow was falling. Hwy 1 was being plowed from Freedom Blvd to Sea Cliff. It looked to be a mix of snow and hail. Rained about sunrise and all was gone soon after.

If you're interested, speak with a Ranger about joining the MVP, Mobile Volunteer Patrol. We do patrols around Shark Valley answering questions about the wildlife, ensuring people are safe and have enough water (really important in the summer obviously!) and that people are not bothering the animals. Yes, I've had to tell people to stop touching the alligators. It is a really fun thing to do, and a patrol usually takes about 2-3 hours, depending on the number of visitors and how inquisitive they are. It's also a great way to get in a few miles of safe paved road riding, without cars!

It is similar to a concussion proposal monitor But it can be programmed to send an alert to someone of your choice by text and email should it detect a sudden stop or crash. It can be purchased separate through a Trek store and added to any helmet. Check it out if you ride alone anywhere. I think it is one of the best things I have added to my cycling in 40 years.
