I spent several days riding that path while taking a little vacation to Venice Beach in March. Our AirBnB had a couple bikes and we did nothing but ride - no rental car - with a couple hill hikes and some breweries thrown in for good measure. Loved it. I love bikes too!

I have two recumbent trikes now, one e-trike and one 'acoustic' trike. They are very different, but each allows me to go many places in town. My orthopedist was enthusiatic about the trike over any other exercise except swimming, and since I don't swim much, this is the best option. I like the way you can see more, on a trike- you can look at the sky, see the wildlife, etc.

I had my knee replacement surgery jus before Halloween, 2017. I did my PT religiously and walked a good bit. I was back on the bike by February 2018, commuting to work, training for century rides and getting back to the daily joy that cycling gives me. You'll be back on your bike soon enough. Walking and just getting around in daily life will be much better, too! You just gotta get past those first 72 hours after surgery. Good luck with the new knee!
