The cycling facilities throughout Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire include a mixture of on and off-road facilities via key destinations including parks, beaches, schools, workplaces, hospitals and leisure facilities.
The Formartine and Buchan Way is 53 miles in length, is entirely off-road, and runs from Dyce in Aberdeen City to Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire. If you would like to do a shorter section of the Formartine and Buchan Way it is possible to join the path at a number of different points such as Dyce to Newmacher which is 4 miles in length. Another route that is predominantly off-road is the Deeside Way National Cycle Network (NCN) route 195 which runs from Duthie Park in Aberdeen City to Ballater in Aberdeenshire. The Deeside Way (NCN 195) route can be joined at a number of locations, such as in Drumoak and Banchory so that you can make your cycle as long or as short as you like. Becycle is Aberdeen's community bike workshop and offers upcycled bicycles for long-term loans. You can borrow a bike for up to 6 months, with the potential to extend this loan period. A £40 deposit is required and some bikes may need servicing before they are ready for collection.

The North East 250 is an excellent long-distance route for cyclists. The North East 250 route goes through numerous towns and villages and has many highlights along the way including, the Cairngorms National Park, castles and whisky distilleries.
